Meet SPIbelt Ambassador John H.
An unabashed lover of Columbus, I love exploring my city on foot. Races or just running the streets and trails, there’s always so much to learn, even about places you’ve lived for a while. I also enjoy traveling (looking forward to a beach vacation this year!) and finding new places to run. Proud husband and father, I’ve finished second to my wife in every race we’ve run in the past 3 years, but I’ve got a feeling that’ll change this year. My two sons are growing up in a house that loves to be outside, and it’s great to see them find the sports they love.
What is your biggest goal for 2019?
To get back to the place and person I was a few years back. To embrace the good and the bad, and to enjoy everything that comes my way.
What is your favorite SPIbelt product?
LOVE the Endurance series belt! From the loops for energy gels, to the toggles that hold a race bib, it’s the perfect accessory for race day. Plus, my Samsung Galaxy S9 fits snugly inside and doesn’t bounce around and annoy me when I’m running!
Coolest place you have taken your SPIbelt?
On a 3 day, 3 race trip in Utah last fall. Running half marathons at Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, and the Grand Canyon was something I’ll never forget. Every time you turned your head, more beauty.
What quote or motto keeps you motivated?
Don’t let the bastards get you down.
Anything else you would like to share?
While my favorite song to run to is still “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness, “Hustler (Nino’s Theme)” by Ice-T is a close second. These are the undisputed best. Don’t @ me.
