Husband. Father. Runner. Generally awesome person. I took up distance running, basically, on a dare in 2009. Since then, I’ve learned that I’m pretty capable of accomplishing, well, pretty much anything. I am amazed by the variety of wonderful people I’ve both met and “met” as I’ve gotten into running. This community is truly one of the most supportive I’ve ever encountered. When I’m not running, my family and I love to volunteer at races and festivals throughout Central Ohio. If you ever see me out, please say hello! Being bigger than most people, I’ve been told I can sometimes give off an intimidating vibe. But I’m really a teddy bear. And I promise I won’t bite. Hard.
Favorite way to workout? Running, and OrangeTheory Fitness workouts (HIIT)
Favorite workout jam? “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” is still number one, but “No Problem” by Chance The Rapper, “S.O.B.” by Nathaniel Rateliff, and “Call Me” by St. Paul and the Broken Bones also get me moving.
Three things you can’t leave home without? My charming personality, my phone (for sweet jamz), and a hat. #BaldGuyProblems
Next thing you want to conquer? Duathalon. And after that, swimming so I can attempt a triathlon.
What is your biggest accomplishment? Having an awesome partner in crime, and 2 great kids. Other than that, finishing 2 marathons, and over 15 half marathons.
What is your favorite SPIbelt product and why? Love my Endurance Series belt! Pocket is big enough for my phone and keys, it has loops for fuel, and toggles to hold my race bib. Plus, hydration bottles fit on it as well, making it the perfect long distance training partner.
