Meet SPIbelt Ambassador Kristin

It’s hard to believe I’ve been running for 9 years. Have I LOVED running that entire time? No, running and I have this complicated love/hate relationship. To. This. Day. I started running mostly because I found out you could run through the castle at Disney World. I wasn’t out to set any records, and I certainly wasn’t super serious about training. I was out to just have fun and to see if I could make it on my feet for 13.1 miles. Turns out, I could and I did and then I was hooked. That half marathon turned into 25+ half marathons and 4 full marathons plus countless other races including Hood to Coast, which is definitely my favorite running experience! 199 miles, little to no sleep and ALL OF THE FUN. And after all of those races – most of them, I half trained for…I decided to hire a coach, which let me tell you makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE in the world! I’ve become faster and stronger than I ever knew I could be and my love/hate relationship with running, it’s more of a love relationship now.

What is your biggest goal for 2019?

My biggest goal for 2019 is to finally break 30 minutes in the 5K while continuing to become a stronger and faster runner!

What is your favorite SPIbelt product?

My favorite SPIbelt product is the Double Pocket SPIbelt for long races. I can keep my car key, ID and chapstick in one pocket and my phone in the other pocket for easy access during the race!

Coolest place you have taken your SPIbelt?

Portland, Oregon –> Seaside, Oregon for Hood to Coast – one of the best race experiences of my life! Little to no sleep and all the running and all the fun with friends for 199 miles!

What quote or motto keeps you motivated?

“I can AND I will” gets me through most all of my long runs. I know I CAN do this and I know I WILL finish this.
