Meet SPIbelt Ambassador Linda
Born and raised on the west side of Chicago, I am a city girl at heart. I moved to the suburbs in my mid-20s, where my husband and I raised three boys, all now young adults. My eldest married an amazing girl in September of 2017 and we couldn’t be happier! Our two eldest sons (and our new daughter-in-law!) live in the city, and our youngest son is a junior in college. I have a PhD and work clinically as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and I also own a continuing education and consulting business. I am busy! My dream is to move back to the city after retirement. I started running just five years ago and I hope to complete all of the World Marathon Majors. I’ve raised my boys to believe just as I do ~ you can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it!
What is your biggest goal for 2019?
I’m not very disciplined about training for races, but I get them done. I would love to focus on training for the Chicago Marathon in October and set a PR for my time.
What is your favorite SPIbelt product?
I seriously love them all, but the SPIbeams LED Hat has been one of my favorites as of late. I have been doing more early morning runs and I love the feeling of safety when running in the dark. I have it in pink and absolutely love the color!
Coolest place you have taken your SPIbelt?
Hiking through Valley of Fire State Park in Overton, Nevada.
What quote or motto keeps you motivated?
You’ve got this!
Anything else you would like to share?
I am late the the running game, having started in my 50s. I am not fast and likely never will be, but I am determined! I have embraced the running community and love connecting with other runners through social media.
