Meet SPIbelt Ambassador Mel

As a wife and mom, running has added a new dimension to my life. At first it was an aid in dropping a few pounds (eventually 170lbs) it actually gave me a new lease on life! I’m a healthier wife and mom and a person my family can be proud of. I’ve been matched with my buddy, Aiden, through the IRun4Michael program, and that has changed my running so much! Aiden has given my running a focus so now when I train and race, every mile is dedicated to him. My goals are primarily on ultra running with the ultimate goal of completing a 100 mile race. There’s no way I could do any of it without the love and support of my husband. I owe him so much! #blessed

Q & A

What is your biggest goal for 2020?

This year’s goal is to earn a 100M buckle for my IRun4 buddy, Aiden!!! Last year the two of us completed our first 100k. This year we’re returning to the same race for the 100M buckle!!! It’s going to be exciting. We’re also running the New York City Marathon in the fall. WooHoo!!!

What is your favorite SPIbelt product?

I’m a huge fan of the new Dual Pocket Pro! It’s the best of both worlds! No bounce or chafe with that sweet wide waistband AND a buckle so it’s more easily adjustable to fit. Plus, with TWO pockets, I can carry pretty much everything I need…except for the kitchen sink.

Coolest place you have taken your SPIbelt?

Coolest place for my SPIbelt would have to be a toss up between the Berlin Marathon and the London Marathon. Although, it went to Canada during the Detroit Free Press Marathon this past fall. Running a marathon in two countries in one race was pretty awesome!

What quote or motto keeps you motivated?

#IRun4Aiden is my mantra.

Anything else you would like to share?

SPIbelt has been my immediate “Go~To” running belt since my first marathon back in 2013. I love how it can carry my phone, extra fuel and any other little things I might need mid training run/race. It NEVER bounces or chafes! Amazing belt!!! I very dearly love my SPIbelt!
