SPIbelt Featured Fan - @jesslynn411

My life is busy but very fun! I am a mom in a blended family of 5 kids!! We love singing, dancing, painting, and traveling, especially for different races. I am a nurse recruiter by day, and any chance I get, I am doing something active, like lifting or running. I come from a family of karaoke singers! You can count on me for a witty punchline, or to say just the right thing to make things awkward. It’s almost a guarantee.

How long have you been using a SPIbelt? Which belt is your favorite?

I have been running since high school, but it wasn’t until my boyfriend Craig (SPIbelt Ambassador) introduced me to SPIbelt last year that I was able to go from running 3 miles at a time to running half marathons. I love the Pouble Pocket Spibelt; it holds both my phone and my energy gear. Hoping to get the Glide very soon!

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

Speak or sing in front of an audience. There is a feeling of both nervousness and accomplishment you get that leaves you feeling like you can tackle anything.

Has there ever been a time when something so amazing/unexpected happened that it left you speechless?

I was running my most recent half marathon, and the weather was extremely humid. I didn’t feel like I could keep running. It was mile 10, and a woman in a wheelchair rolled beside me and said, “Come on, just keep going” and pushed her wheels hard. You could see she was struggling too, but the determination on her face was intense. A sign on her chair said, “I can’t feel my legs”. It made me both laugh and cry at the same time. I didn’t even walk once during that half, because all I could think about was how fortunate I was to have legs that I could feel. I will never forget that moment.

What was the most memorable gift you’ve received?

Craig and I took the kids Christmas shopping so they could get us each a gift. He took the boys and I took the girls. We opened the gifts at the same time, and realized we got each other the exact same items. We couldn’t stop laughing!

What inspires you?

Seeing how far you can come when you push yourself. Last year, I couldn’t run a whole mile without stopping. But seeing runners from all ages, body types, and backgrounds has shown me that you can do ANYTHING when you just put your shoes on!
