I’m thrilled to be returning in 2017 as an ambassador for SPIbelt! Several years ago, I was obese and dying from endocrine diseases I did know know I had. Through running, a gluten free and AIP diet, and the determination to find the root of my health issues, I was able to lose 60 pounds and become the healthy ultra runner I am today. My two children have joined me on this journey. In fact, my oldest is a juvenile diabetic and just finished her senior year as a soccer player. She is entering a private college in the fall to study medicine. My youngest is on the cross country team and has completed multiple trail races of varying distances. Her longest race has been a 50k. We are a family that believes in being active and healthy. The only limits we have are the ones we place on ourselves. Therefore, the sky is the limit.

Favorite way to workout? Trail running

Favorite workout jam?  No music. It’s just me and nature.

Three things you can’t leave home without? SPIbelt, Garmin, Phone.

Next thing you want to conquer? I’m running Comrades this summer, and since I ran Vol State crewed last year, I plan to try my hand at it solo this year.  

What is your biggest accomplishment? Toss up between Vol State and Tarheel Ultra .

What is your favorite SPIbelt product and why? The Reflective SPIbelt! It’s amazing! It’s a must have for night running anywhere near traffic.
